     Nombre de séries optimal par muscle et par semaine pour prendre du muscle.

⁉️ Que nous dit la science sur le nombre de séries pour optimisé sa prise de masse (Hypertrophie) ? -
 Une étude a été réalisée sur 37 personnes divisées en 4 groupes : • Un groupe qui ont effectué 5 séries • Un groupe qui ont effectué 10 séries • Un groupe qui ont effectué 15 séries • Un groupe qui ont effectué 20 séries
 Tous les groupes ont travaillés sur leurs 10 RM donc 10 répétitions pendant 24 semaines.

 Les tests ont été effectué sur le developpe couche, le tirage vertical, presse oblique et soulevé de terre jambes tendues. -
 Au bout de 24 semaines, tous les groupes ont montrés une augmentation de leur épaisseurs des muscles mesurés et leur 10RM (surcharge progressive). Cependant les groupes qui ont fait 5 séries et 10 séries ont vu une augmentation de leur 10RM un peu plus importante. -
️ Conclusion 10 séries par semaine sur un gros muscle serait optimal pour la prise de masse et une surcharge progressive plus importante.

️️ Attention, on parle ici du nombre de séries sur 10 répétitions donc ici 100 répétitions sur les pectoraux par semaine.

Pour l'hypertrophie :
• Entre 50 et 120 répétitions par semaine pour l'hypertrophie sur un gros groupe musculaire.
• Entre 30 et 70 répétitions par semaine pour un petit groupe musculaire.

 ATTENTION, il existe plusieurs types d'hypertrophies pour lesquelles, certains paramètres vont varier dans vos séances. ( +/- de séries, +/- de répétitions, +/- de temps récupérations).

Today’s top set of 8 was 15lbs / 7% increase from last week  RPE 8

    Hit a 405 paused close-grip bench today. Bar shifted to my left at the bottom and I managed to get it stuck against one of the pins before the lockout, but I got it! Last time I hit a 405 bench I was 20lbs heavier and it wasn’t with a pause or close-grip. The Squat is a movement we incorporate in our every day life and a  very important movement we use during strength training to build muscle and burn body fat.

THE SQUAT; ONE OF THE 6 FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENTS

The squat is a lower body movement that is not only used to build lower body strength but to use in everyday
Life, like picking up objects off the ground.
Unfortunately this movement has long been forgotten or unused since we no longer practice the safe movement, before 
We learned to walk or crawl we were able to squat comfortably with no problem, just look at toddlers and how
they are able to sit in a squat position. We have lost this important movement and we need to re-learn it as a habit for adulthood. -
So here at Lower Valley Fitness Club we will show you some squat progressions if you are not able to do a barbell squat or a body weight squat. These progressive goals will put those that are interested well on their way to a healthier habit when lifting weights or objects in everyday life.

The set up
Before we do any sort of squatting here are some things you need to do to position yourself for the squat.
-
 Keep your feet at about shoulder width apart, may be a bit wider for some.
Point your toes out slightly.
Brace and engage your core, and take a deep breath.
 Keep your back straight, retracting your shoulders.
 DO NOT BEND AT KNEES!!! But instead drop the hips and then let your knees bend.
 In the bottom position drive your heels through the floor with your feet flat, and come back up and exhale.

Touched a bit high on my chest with the third rep in this one so it didn't have quite as much pop off the chest as I would've liked but overall the sets went well.

    How do you make a workout more “intense”? Yes, faster/explosive movement is definitely an option. And is important. But sometimes slowing things down and owning the movement can be VERY intense. My finisher for today’s leg workout was all about front #squats. I wanted to go as slow as I could and increase the time under tension. I did a 5/3 combo on the min every min x 10 min. ▶️ round 1 = 5 reps with 2 light bells (2 - 18kg) ▶️ round 2 = 3 reps with 2 heavier bells (2 - 24kg)....then alternated those weights each round and repeated for 10 rounds. Great for those legs, but dang my core was on FIRE  after doing these!!! And don’t forget to really give those #glutes a squeeze at the top!! This squat variation, called a *Spanish squat*, forces the quad to stay working throughout the full range. The resistance of the band should be enough to nearly pull you forward.🤪 Try to get 12 repetitions without stopping!
