PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 🥜 By popular demand, here is a “healthier for you” cookie recipe for those looking for an indulgent sweet treat. Gluten-free and vegan friendly. Tag me in your creations if you give these a try!

To make the PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES, you will need:
• 1/4 cup 100% maple syrup
• 1/4 cup coconut sugar
• 1 cup organic peanut butter
• 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tbsp @bobsredmill arrowroot starch
• 1/4 cup melted virgin coconut oil
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup @onedegreeorganics GF sprouted oats
• 1/2 cup @bobsredmill brown rice flour
• Pinch of @redmondrealsalt salt

Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Add and mix all dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Next, add the wet ingredients and mix until homogeneous.

Note: I used a chunky variety of peanut butter with natural oil separation, no additives. Arrowroot starch is important for binding and adds a little bit of that “crispness” on the outside. Can also use corn starch. 
Take a spoonful of dough and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (no need to grease). Flatten balls of dough into discs (~1/2 inch thick). Bake for 10 minutes. Remove cookies and make *gentle* fork imprints (optional ).

Immediately place cookies in fridge to set for 30 minutes before enjoying. Makes 12 medium sized cookies.

    hellllllooooo!!!! i’m in a super good mood bc ur girl went to the gym today 🤩🤩🤩 i took the last two days off to give my body a rest after my killer leg workout the other day & to also finish up my semester and have a fun lil’ date night with my manz  i spent two hours in the gym today and let me tell you guys... ohhhhh honey that’s what i love!!!! i’m noticing a lot more strength in my core as well as my upper body as i’ve been able to increase my weights. every day my body is looking leaner and leaner & i couldn’t be more proud of myself. i’m excited to see where i’ll be at in a year both physically & mentally/emotionally. let’s hustle, baby 🦋

    hellllllooooo!!!! i’m in a super good mood bc ur girl went to the gym today 🤩🤩🤩 i took the last two days off to give my body a rest after my killer leg workout the other day & to also finish up my semester and have a fun lil’ date night with my manz i spent two hours in the gym today and let me tell you guys... ohhhhh honey that’s what i love!!!! i’m noticing a lot more strength in my core as well as my upper body as i’ve been able to increase my weights. every day my body is looking leaner and leaner & i couldn’t be more proud of myself. i’m excited to see where i’ll be at in a year both physically & mentally/emotionally. let’s hustle, baby 🦋

    Had my first food scare last night ! I tried to cheat the system and ordered an UberEats Thai chicken soup. I wizzed it up in the food processor and then strained it. What I hadn’t anticipated was the coconut cream. I am allowed soup but there is obviously a reason why they say homemade and clear !!!! Usually dumping syndrome is only associated with a bypass not a sleeve but that’s what I got. Hot sweats ravaged me and my head spun. I then threw up blood !!! That was enough to scare me back on track. Today it’s back to eggs. I am on eggs, yoghurt and purée until July the 18th and then can move on to soft foods ! Lesson, don’t rush the healing process 🤷‍️🤦‍️

While no one specific meal will make you gain or lose weight, your meals and snacks for the day all together will add up to hit your target goals.

As a reminder, for fat loss you need to be in a sustainable caloric deficit. For muscle gain, you need to be in a caloric surplus. For macitence, you need to be at a a caloric maintenance level.

While that exact caloric number will be different for everyone, here are some examples to help you reach your goals.

As you can see for the weight loss meals, they’re not devoid of all complex carbs. While at dinner, I skipped the rice for cauliflower rice, at lunch, I still included the full sweet potato and just skipped the toppings that were in the muscle gain meal.

Additionally, I made sure I had plenty of healthy fats in the weight loss meals but still had a smaller portion than in the muscle gain meals.

🥗Lunch fat loss - 4oz chicken, 1 sweet potato, 1 cup broccoli.
🥗Lunch muscle gain - Added 2oz chicken, added 1 banana + 1 tbsp pb.

Breakfast fat loss - 2 eggs + 2 egg whites, 1/4 avocado, 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes + 1/4 cup mushrooms + 1/4 cup asparagus sautéed + 1 piece Ezekiel toast.
Breakfast muscle gain - Added 2 eggs, + 1/4 avocado, + 1 tbsp pb.

🥘Dinner fat loss - 4oz wild salmon, 1 cup cauliflower rice, 1 cup mushrooms + 1 cup kale sautéed in 1 tsp olive oil.
🥘Dinner muscle gain - Added 2oz salmon, subbed in 1 cup rice for 1 cup cauliflower.

Here is the answer to last week's TRUE/FALSE question which was whether or not lifting heavy causes injuries. Lifting heavy does not CAUSE injury but is very closely associated to it. Always remember that correlation is not causation. It's bad mechanics and form that causes it. The heavier weight you use, the room for error in the form because very little and the more precise with the form you have to be. You can get away with bad form with lighter weights and that's how bad habits are formed. Learn the form properly before attempting to go heavier.
