    Too many people treat every workout like a ‘bus bench’ workout when most of the time most of your workouts will be ‘park bench’ workouts. I stole this idea (love it too) from the legend Dan John. Too many people are stressing to get to a specific ‘destination’ by a specific time ⏰like a bus. Eg I wanna get to 12% body fat by July 19th. This has its place for short periods in the year but most of the time you will be on the park bench (he says 8 months ish).     40 minutes on the treadmill done  I couldn't make the gym today so I was determined to get my steps in  currently sitting at 10,118 for the day with time to spare! I'll track this as 400 cals but still a great addition to the deficit from my diet  Not bad for a monday

    This weekend I attended the second Uncommon Women Workshop with one of my amazing clients. The topic of focus was resilience, which has resonated with me over the last few days. Sometimes things get placed on your plate or in your path when you least expect them or even realize you need them. This workshop was one of them for me. I NEEDED to hear each of the leaders words and wisdom, and the guest speaker’s story. Resilience is not something that can be taught or trained, it’s not something we are born with, it’s practiced through experience. It’s a situation that can be so uncomfortable, embarrassing, leaving you feel so unclothed and vulnerable, but it leaves such a valuable impact on the rest of your life. It adds value to your life, your job, your practice, your journey, wherever the situation lies, it’s so necessary to acknowledge it. Resilience is one of my biggest qualities I carry, I’ve never really placed a lot of value on it until this weekend. I’ve overcame so much physically with my health issues, being in the field that I am that my resilience has left me stronger than I ever imagined myself ten years ago. My career has also been down so many paths of mistrust, abused friendships, harsh words, and so much gossip and negativity that honestly somedays I used to question if this was the right field for me. My resilience came through, my vulnerability exposed, I was able to reach out trusting mentors to help me through it all. I was able to learn and grow from every situation or awkward encounter to actually grow so much in the last several years, that I have not doubted my purpose or career choices since. They asked us each to state two things about ourselves that made us more resilient... hands down my tool of choice is my extremely close and tight circle that I trust with my soul. I have mentors and friends that listen to me, let fully expose myself, and remind me why I do what I do. They remind me of my worth, what I can achieve from the experience, and they cheer me on when I get back up. I can not even explain in words the amount of love I have for these individuals. My client reminded me of my second reason, most likely why we click so well...

Cottage cheese and I are definitely having a food moment right now So when I saw @cupcakesforprs genius idea to add sugar free pudding mix, there was no way I wasn't trying it out myself. Verdict: Absolutely delicious, thick and filling🤤 I mixed 270 grams (about 1.5 cups) low fat cottage cheese with 8 grams (1 Tablespoon) of SF cheesecake pudding mix and popped it in the fridge for a few hours. Topped it off with @flavoredpbco Caramel Crunch PB🥜 pretzels, butterscotch chips and a healthy sprinkle of sea salt. Hope everyone's having a great Saturday!

well done, you conquered Monday   I ended up cycling 10 miles to work, did a 45 minute bleep test circuit, sat at my desk cursing at my screen, got home, food shopped on an empty stomach and came back to shove these pork and chorizo burgers in the oven with a pitta bread. Still gotta be better than a deliveroo and this was 500kcals.
You can still cook to fit your macros at mininal effort...even on a monday

    BASIC well done, you conquered Monday I ended up cycling 10 miles to work, did a 45 minute bleep test circuit, sat at my desk cursing at my screen, got home, food shopped on an empty stomach and came back to shove these pork and chorizo burgers in the oven with a pitta bread. Still gotta be better than a deliveroo and this was 500kcals. Non è che io mangi sempre pollo, anzi ultimamente sto cercando di variare il più possibile fra i vari alimenti. Ieri però invece di prendere 200g di macinato di pollo per il cous cous ne ho presi 400g ..e siccome preferisco sempre consumare la carne subito quando la compro , anche stasera petto di pollo. 
Ho deciso però di prepararlo in maniera diversa. Ho fatto delle polpettine con semplice macinato, prezzemolo, aglio (che ho tolto prima di formare le palline ) e del pepe nero, le ho fatte cuocere in padella con un dito d'acqua e ho aggiungo curry e paprika dolce. Le ho fatte cuocere per qualche minuto con il coperchio, dopodiché una volta tolto, ho lasciato che l'acqua si assorbisse. Nel frattempo avevo preparato delle patate al forno speziate🥔 e dell'insalata🥗. Ho letteralmente amato la cena di stasera🤤🤤

    Sesame salmon stir fry ️

The flavour of a simple stir fry can really be enhanced by frying vegetables in a little sesame oil. This oil can help lower LDL (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, aka bad cholesterol) because of the levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids, including sesamol and sesamin. These fatty acids keep the cardiovascular system strong and the LDL cholesterol low. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As for the salmon, if you’re like me and love crisp skin here’s how to do it. Make sure your salmon side is de scaled and has been out of the fridge for around half an hour before cooking, add chopped chilli, ginger, ground pepper and some soy sauce. Pre heat the oven and add a serving plate. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you’re ready to cook the salmon, heat a non stick frying pan on the hob at full heat and add a tiny bit of oil, then bring the heat down and put the salmon in skin side down. Leave it for around 5 minutes and then check the skin, when you think it’s crispy enough remove the plate from the oven and very carefully flip the salmon onto the hot plate skin side up. You may need an extra pair of hands to help here! Pop in the oven for another 5 mins or so to finish off and you’re good to go! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When you weigh yourself, you are measuring your overall weight, not just body fat. So that number on the scale is also including muscle, the food in your GI, and water weight!!! Your water retention will fluctuate on a daily basis depending on what you eat, how much you eat, activity, stress, cortisol levels, as well as many more factors. This is especially true when losing weight because that is when water retention is kicked up a notch.

So no, weighing yourself on a bathroom scale is not perfect. Thus, you should not be discouraged from that number moving upwards. Instead, use the bathroom scale as a tool to track trends in body weight over time.

Side note: I’ve switched to using @flora margarine for spread now as they’ve made all their products vegan friendly. I’ve also heard their dairy free spread is suitable for those with allergies go Flora!!

    Lunch is basic per usu because building #muscle is way more fun than eating whatever I want, whenever I want it. A life without discipline is dangerous. Not only that, discipline paired with sacrifice is the greatest form of #love. Anytime I’m choking down some greens, I try and say to myself... “This is because I love you” 🤣because I’ll tell you what... it’s not easy. And if anybody ever says, “Getting healthy or making habit changes is a breeze” they’re a bunch of liars! 🤪 But I’ll tell you what - it’s 100% worth it. Taking steps toward #health is one of the best things you will ever do with your life! I promise.
