When you're having a bad day, stop and think of everything good in your life. I know. I know. It sounds stupid but in reality our inconvenience could of been worse. If you're breathing and have all your limbs, you're doing great! I had a shit day and I let it ruin my eating habits. I told myself, NO MORE MARGARITAS. And guess what. My ass went and had half of a margarita.🤷‍♀️ I'm not going to beat myself up over having one. 🔥 3 Bicep Training Tips you were NEVER TAUGHT by @trainwithcarsen 🔥 _ Whenwe think Bicep - we think elbow flexion, simply just curling the dumbbell up and shortening the angle at our elbow joint. ✅BUT we must not forget that the Bicep also aids in wrist supination❗️In English that essentially means turning your palms up to the ceiling. SO - when you are curling, don’t just think about curling UP...think about curling UP & OUT. That is how you will maximally contract your Bicep!  _ Squeeze your Tricep at the bottom of your Bicep Curl❗️Sounds strange, right? Well, we know that when a muscle is contracted, the opposing (antagonist) muscle must be lengthened (stretched), SO - by squeezing your Tricep at the bottom of your Bicep Curl, you are fully lengthening your Bicep, which allows for the greatest possible range of motion. Greater range of motion = greater muscle tissue breakdown = more muscle gained!  _ The Bicep is comprised of 2-heads (hence “bi”), the long head and the short head. Most of the time I see guys training biceps, they often forget about the long head. ✅The long head is targeted when the Bicep is worked in a lengthened position (stretched). For instance - incline curls do a great job of working the long head. The Bicep head is put under load in a lengthened position. If you’re not doing incline dumbbell curls, you’re leaving gains on the table!  _ . . . Hacks and strategies for high volume eating for an easy breezy fat loss journey:⁣ ⁣ Add veggies to each plate. Add veggies to your scrambled eggs, stir fry, casserole or protein smoothie. My personal fave is adding avocado to my protein smoothie. The consistency is to die for.⁣ ⁣ Try swapping out some carbs for substitutes, especily when you're short on carbs for the day. Make cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles (zoodles). ⁣ ⁣ Have a yummy, filling salad. Use lettuce, tomato, strawberries, blueberries, carrots, seeds, nuts, or beets. Add in lean protein like grilled chicken, shrimp, fish, or steak.⁣ ⁣ Make soups or stew. Add vegetables to them. Add lean protein.⁣ ⁣ Remember: high volume foods are full of nutrients and still low in calories. I made this for one of my best friend’s birthdays this week, and I’m pretty sure she felt the love!💓 This is the recipe from my first cookbook - Chocolate and Blood Orange Layer Cake, but I changed up the frosting a bit and used avocados for more creaminess, and then poured dark chocolate all over the top🙈😂made cake balls out of the trimmings I had leftover from making the second tier, and dehydrated my own citrus for the decoration.🍊It was such a joy to create (the idea actually came to me in a dream!) and like ANY baking endeavor that doesn’t end up being a disaster, I felt deeply satisfied having brought this one to life.🎂 I know that this is a favourite recipe for so many of you -let me know if you’ve made it!🙋🏼‍♀️ . . . . . . Let me tell you what - when you choose the right low carb foods, you can actually eat a lot and don’t have to feel hungry 24/7 on your weight loss journey! 🥑🍉🍳⠀ •⠀ •⠀ A lot of grab and go breakfast items like muffins, croissants 🥐and cinnamon rolls from coffee ☕️ shops pack in a lot more calories than you might think. In addition to the calories, they typically are very carb dense 🍞 and lack good protein and fat that is helpful in weight loss. This makeup doesn’t leave women feeling satisfied for long, making it difficult to lose weight because they then end up overeating between meals to get rid of their hunger.⠀ •⠀ •⠀ My recommendation? Opt for Whole Foods 🍇🥒🍳 MOST of the time (I do at least 80% of the time). Foods like fruits 🍎, vegetables 🍅, high quality protein like eggs 🍳, and healthy fats from foods such as avocados 🥑 and walnuts 🥜. Baked potato chips are a lower-fat alternative, but that doesn't mean that they're nutritious. While baked potato chips do supply small doses of calcium, potassium and iron, they shouldn't be a regular part of your healthy eating plan because they're still high in sodium and contain more calories per cup than regular potato chips. _ Make your own baked potato chips as a healthier alternative. Cut raw potatoes into thin slices and scatter them on a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Drizzle the potato slices with olive oil and sprinkle them with your favorite dried herbs and spices such as rosemary, thyme or chili powder. Bake the potatoes until they are crispy for chips that are low in fat and sodium but supply good amounts of potassium, vitamin C and fiber.
