Ok so I’m kind of joking here (unless sprints are your thing) but in all seriousness, your HIIT workouts can really be that simple. ‍️
~
What is HIIT? HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training.
~
Why do HIIT cardio? There are a lot of reasons but for starters, HIIT can help stoke your metabolism, it can improve your speed, agility and endurance, AND it’s quick - typically about 20 minutes of high intensity intervals. Your cardiovascular health is important and this is one way to make sure you find time to get it in! It can also promote fat loss and make you feel like a badass. Sooo, it’s a win win.

There are 100 different ways to do this! Choose a bike, a rowing machine, a SkiErg, a jump rope, or just do some higher intensity body weight movements!
~
If you’re new to working out, I would actually advise against doing sprints. Find another method that is lower impact that you can do to help build your endurance and increase your strength first (like a spin bike or rowing machine), then work up to more challenging modalities.
~
Some of my favorite intervals are :30 all out, :30 minimal effort (like my sprint example above) or :40 on :20 off.

(No ,this post is not meant to show you my messy-ass bedroom. Avert your eyes!) Nine years ago, I tried these capris on (after 6 months of not wearing them) only to find out that I couldn't fasten them. They were super tight and even lying down on my bed didn't help to close them. I was about to head down south on a trip and wanted to take these capris because they were cooler temp-wise than regular pants, but there was no sense in doing that because I couldn't wear them.

I weigh the exact same as I did those nine years ago when I couldn't wear them. But now...I can wear them! They are a little snug, but they pull up fine and fasten with no problem, and I can definitely wear them now.

This is such an amazing NSV for me, and it just goes to show that THE SCALE IS NOT EVERYTHING. Yes, I weigh the same, but obviously I am smaller at this point, which means I have more muscle. I definitely feel stronger and healthier and more energetic than I did at this same weight nine years ago. Trying on these capris today has been the biggest tell-tale sign for me of the size difference between fat & muscle.

Don't let the scale fool you. I often get caught up in the mindset of, But I weigh the same as I did at such-and-such time and I wasn't happy with my body then. But now I have a very real experience to fall back on to remind me that even though I'm at the same weight I was all those years ago, I am so much healthier now.

Here’s a little quad dominant leg workout for you guys to try! ‍️Don’t be afraid to use machines at the gym! They all have instructions and are there to help make your life easier!
‼️Quick tip‼️ It’s super important to include single leg/arm exercises in your workouts to make sure all your muscles are putting in the same amount of work! This promotes stronger muscle stability and unilateral muscle growth! If you don’t normally include single leg exercises in your workout routines I definitely recommend adding them!

Happy Monday! Let’s start this week off by making choices, not excuses! No gym membership? No problem! Try this circuit, 4-6 rounds, each exercise 10X. Let’s get it!

Do you even sprint bro🤷‍️ Uphill Sprint Intervals
 A great way to burn stubborn fat. This particular morning I ran before eating (Fasted cardio)
With summer around the corner I'm wanting to lean up a bit. This approach is healthy and very effective!
Start at a pace good for you 30 sec run 1min rest 10x
This day I did 10 incline 8 mph 
Somedays I do 15 incline 7mps. Or a 45 sec run and 90 sec rest (as long as I rest for double the length of the sprint)
Play around with what works for you.  You should be read to jump off by the end of each sprint. 
A good start is 8 incline at 5 or 6mph
 See how that feels and work your way up progressively.
The rest in between is enough to keep you going for the next round.
