Many people neglect their essential fatty acids. One of the main ones are omega 3 fatty acids, which are a necessity for proper bodily function. The issue is everyone is different! People hear “eat fish once a week and you’ll be good” which isn’t necessarily true for everyone. Me, I have to supplement every day with fish oils to maintain a healthy level of these fatty acids. Symptoms of deficiency include: Rough or dry ‘bumpy’ skin, Dry, dull or ‘lifeless’ brittle hair and dandruff, Soft, peeling or brittle nails, Excessive thirst, frequent urination Sleep problems (especially difficulties in settling at night and waking in the morning) Attention and memory problems, and Emotional sensitivity A healthy adult should consume 500 mg combined EPA and DHA per day and sometimes more depending. 💥WHEN SHOULD I DO CARDIO?💥 - - - Follow @superhuman.fitfor 🔑 fitness and nutrition tips - - - This post is specifically referring to doing your strength training and cardio in the same session. - If your goal is to lose fat, gain muscle or get stronger, you should ALWAYS do your strength training first. - For fat loss, your first priority will be nutrition and specifically a calorie deficit. After that, strength training should be #2on the list. It will have a much more profound impact on fat loss than cardio. - Lifting: - 1. Burns Calories - 2. Builds Muscle - 3. Increases Strength - 4. Raises Metabolism for 24-48 Hours - 5. Completely Reshapes Your Body - Cardio burns calories, and *can* raise metabolism for 24-48 hours if done at a high enough intensity (HIIT). That’s it. You reap none of the other benefits listed above. - For gaining muscle, hopefully it’s pretty obvious you should prioritize weight training over cardio. Nuff said. - Strength - same holds true. If you do too much cardio before your strength training session your overall energy levels and strength will be impaired. - A few notes: - I am NOT anti-cardio. Cardio-loving people please don’t comment on how I hate cardio because I don’t. I am *anti-prioritizing cardio over strength if fat loss, muscle gain or strength is your goal*. Cardio has it’s place if you have time for it. - If you walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes before your strength training, you’ll probably be fine. But that’s more of a warm up and not a structured cardio session. You will gain access through the doors using a fob / your fingerprint /pin code (we are not quite sure yet) and you can access the gym as many times as you like as long as your pass is valid. We will get a website set up so anyone new can easily join and gain access to our facility or alternatively just come up and see the staff, what ever is best for you. We would really like your thoughts and feedback on this please, even if it's just a thumbs up to let us know you agree with it. This is literally just an idea at the moment and if we do decide to go for it, it will probably take a few months to get everything in place. Today felt very Merp. • Would much rather have stayed in bed cuddling the pup & @tonycoyotebut so happy I got the job done. • When I first started using BCAAs, it was honestly just because everyone else did and they tasted good 🤷🏼‍♀️ • Eventually I wondered WHY I was taking them and how they were influencing my workout. I’m sure I’m not the only one who just jumped on this train because everyone else was. • BCAAs, or Branched Chain Amino Acids, increase muscle growth and decrease muscle fatigue. When we workout, we are repeatedly tearing our muscles, which is how they grow BUT only when they are properly being repaired. • If they are not being repaired, then we risk going into a catabolic state where we are actually tearing away from our muscle growth. This is exactly the OPPOSITE of the results that we want from working out. • Besides, in order to burn fat, we must build muscle. • Amino acids are either classified as essential or non-essential. Essential means that they must be consumed through nutrition because the body is unable to produce them.
