    Just wondering if you can have “training chest withdrawals” because I’m already missing smashing my chesticles 🥴 Here’s my strength push day from my new PPL! Kept this one simple with no fancy movements but three compounds to hit all areas of the chest  I’m actually programmed to do DB Shoulder Presses but find that after heavy chests I don’t have what it takes so using the machine is a better alternative for me  Anyway, new week and new chance to smash your goals! My goal this week is legs 3 times and to not cave in and train upperbody 🤔

I am probably not going to do a lot of gym selfies there because it is so packed I will get lots of photobomb in the background!! 🤣
I usually prefer not to have too much people in my pics! 
The funny thing is that in the weight lifting room, there were maybe close or more than 50 people and I was the only girl for a while!!  Scary!!!

What has you pumped up to smash your goals  today?! MINE, YOU ASK? (or maybe you didn't ask but I'm telling you anyway) I GET TO WORKOUT WITH MY BEST FRIEND!!  Today was the start of many weeks and hopefully many months and years of working out together! 
Our schedules are totally different, (Shes a badass full time career woman and I'm a full time momma with healthcare work on the side) 
so it's been hard to get together but now we are not only getting more time with each other but we are building each other up to be our best selves! I'm so excited because I feel like THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING of an amazing strong tribe of mine!! 🥰 All the feels this morning guys!

Gonna be a hypocrite and talk about sleep for a bit. I love sleep but sleep doesn’t seem to love me at times.

When we think of muscle gain or fat loss we primarily think of calories and exercise, and rightly so. But an area of our lives, ideally 1/3rd of our lives belongs to sleep. It is safe to say a lot of us do not prioritize sleep as an important factor not just for fat loss or muscle growth but for our overall health in general. We tend to get away with it it seems but scientifically speaking we aren’t getting away with it at all and we are just making life harder for ourselves essentially.

Each and every person requires sleep for rest and recovery but if you are someone who is active through weight training or sports, sleep could be an even bigger requirement.

There is a nice amount of literature to suggest that lack of sleep or insufficient sleep for ones expenditure levels does terrible things not only for our overall health but also for weight gain and obesity risk. We pretty much know energy balance is the primary influence regarding ones body composition but sleep deprivation can negatively influence this in several ways, thus promoting and contributing to ones weight gain and overall obesity.

Sleep deprivation tends to decrease leptin levels and increase ghrelin levels, which results in an increase in appetite or hunger and a negative effect on calorie partitioning mentions Lyle McDonald in an article he titled Obesity and Physical Inactivity: The Relevance of Reconsidering the Notion of Sedentariness.

A 2014 review by Golem and colleagues stated:
‘’Despite the low energy cost of sleep, population studies have repeatedly shown that a short average duration of sleep is associated with excess body weight…recent research evidence showed that an average nightly sleep of 7-8 h in adults is associated with a lower risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease and all-cause mortality.’’

If you take your health seriously or want to be a leaner healthier individual, prioritizing your sleep like you would with your meals and training would be a good recommendation

 Have you ever woken up one morning after weeks of dieting, hopeful that you are still making progress? Then when you hop on the bathroom scale, you see that you have actually gained weight? Yeah...that feeling sucks. Here is why it shouldn't though.

When you weigh yourself, you are measuring your overall weight, not just body fat. So that number on the scale is also including muscle, the food in your GI, and water weight!!! Your water retention will fluctuate on a daily basis depending on what you eat, how much you eat, activity, stress, cortisol levels, as well as many more factors. This is especially true when losing weight because that is when water retention is kicked up a notch.

So no, weighing yourself on a bathroom scale is not perfect. Thus, you should not be discouraged from that number moving upwards. Instead, use the bathroom scale as a tool to track trends in body weight over time.

Side lunge
.

Side lunges are a star player in all sections - from the warm up, full body fusion, lower body and flow... They have even made appearances in heat building and stretch & strength many times!  Therefore, form in this move is extremely important! .

To properly execute a side lunge, you must be sure that:
️You take a big step out to the side so that your knee is lined up over your second toe and not trying to jut out past your pinky toe
️Your toes (on both feet) are forward (and not opened to the side)
🤟Your weight is shifted to the heel of your lunging leg (your hips should be sinking back like you're sitting in a chair) *your heel should never pop up off the floor in a side lunge*
️️The leg you are lunging away from is straight and your whole foot stays planted on the ground (do not let the outside of the foot pop up)
️Your back should be flat, your chest lifted and shoulders pulled back and squared up to the front of your mat and not opening to the side
️️ Your neck should be a natural extension of the spine

This lunge variation is ideal for stretching the inner thigh and outside of the calf (of the straight leg) and strengthening the outside of the hips and glutes as well as the quads and hamstrings of the lunging leg.

    Mon repas post entraînement ? 🤪 
On me demande souvent ce que je mange après et avant le sport ️‍️ voici mon repas typique en rentrant de la salle. Autant vous dire que je crève la dalle ! Si ce n’est pas ça c’est une salade 🥗 J’aime prendre des légumes frais ( ici courgettes carottes et tomates cerises oignons ) et rajouter des crevettes et 50g pâtes protéinées ( pesées crues) : ça fait un repas complet et j’apporte à mon corps tout ce dont il a besoin, c’est à dire glucides, lipides et protéines
